Everything begins with attention.
A movement.
A memory.
A behaviour.
A feeling.
Something found in nature.
Something ordinary that, for a moment, becomes impossible to ignore.
We observe.
Then we let the image fade,
but keep the feeling close.
What matters is not the accuracy of what we remember, but the way it lives within us.
A sense of movement.
A moment of stillness.
Protection.
Fragility.
Strength.
Desire.
An encounter.
A presence.
This is where art begins: in the way we remember.
We transform these impressions into objects.
Not to reproduce their source.
Not to imitate it.
Not to explain it.
But to give a feeling another form.
A movement can become a chair.
A memory can become light.
A behaviour can become a curve.
A feeling can become an object.
Function gives that object a place in everyday life, but it does not define its meaning.
We want objects to have presence without noise.
To feel familiar without being obvious.
To suggest life without imitating it.
To hold movement while standing still.
And we leave part of the story unfinished.
Because we don’t want to tell people what to see or what to feel.
An object should leave enough space for another memory, another association, another interpretation.
The original image may eventually disappear.
The feeling may become something entirely new.
And perhaps that is the point.
Something we once experienced becomes an object.
The object becomes part of someone else’s experience.
We observe.
We remember.
We transform.
We leave space.
This is IDEA34.
IDEA34 approaches industrial design as a process of observation, memory and transformation. We do not begin by searching for a shape. We begin by paying attention.
Nature, movement, human behaviour, an encounter or an ordinary moment may leave an impression. With time, the literal image can disappear while something more essential remains: movement, protection, fragility, tension, stillness or presence.
Rather than reproducing the source, IDEA34 transforms that remaining impression into something new. Function gives the object a place in everyday life, while engineering, material and manufacturing allow the idea to exist beyond the sketch.
An independent industrial design studio based in Agrinio, Greece, creating furniture, lighting and objects.
Observation becomes memory. Memory becomes abstraction. Abstraction becomes form.
As a source of observation, not a catalogue of shapes to copy.
